Who are we?
Some of our readers have been
consistently curious about the answer to this question. They have
surfed the corners of this site to find out. When we added our
"Contribute" page, some of them thought; "Aha! now I'll find out," so
they scurried right over there and were disappointed again. Well, this
page has been long in coming, but always planned. Read on and find
out why we have posted anonymously and who we really are. Maybe you'll learn something worth knowing
along the way.
Writing Anonymously
People have been writing anonymously, or
by pen
name, as long as there's been anything to say. Though
we don't seek parity with any of the following legends of history, we are humbled in
their company. Few of the books of the Bible name their author
and some are
anonymous. Some of the Psalms were written anonymously, and
the writers of Samuel,
Kings, Esther, and Job are unnamed. Hebrews has been ascribed to the
Apostle Paul but is generally considered to have been written
anonymously. A large group of writings found in the Qumran caves was by
an assortment
of Jewish authors, either writing anonymously or writing under a
pseudonym. Ancient Greek and Roman
authors wrote anonymously under the pseudonym "Publius". Shakespeare's
works are long believed to be under a pseudonym as well as the writings
of Voltaire,
Francis Bacon, Pascal, George Eliot, Walt Whitman and of
course Mark Twain. Sir
Isaac Newton wrote anonymously, the history of
the
concepts of force, gravity, and planetary motion.
One of our favorite poems “Casey at the Bat”, published on
Sunday,
June 3rd, 1888, was written anonymously by Ernest Lawrence
Thayer. He began writing anonymously for the paper he worked for,
called Examiner, in
1886, and by 1887 he was contributing humorous poetry to the Sunday
edition under the name Phin. But our favorite authors by far, and more
comparative with our own socio-political writings, are our Founding Fathers like Dr.
Benjamin Rush, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton. Actual
names were rarely used then, and usually only by
candidates. The Framers relied
upon anonymity writing the Federalist Papers, and political
pamphlets addressing the ratification of our Constitution.
The legal foundation for writing
anonymously is firmly established in the First Amendment, which states
that the government "shall make no law . . .
abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press." It has been ruled on,
many times by our U.S. Supreme Court, including McINTYRE v. OHIO
ELECTIONS COMMISSION, on April 19, 1995. Concurring in the judgment,
some highlights from Justice Thomas include; "There is little doubt
that the Framers engaged in anonymous political
writing." "...freedom of the press
protected an author's anonymity." and ". . . the driving force behind
the demand for a Bill of Rights, indicates
that they believed the freedom of the press to include the right to
author anonymous political articles and pamphlets; that most
other Americans shared this understanding." His entire
writing can be read at: http://supct.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/93-986.ZC1.html The most recent SCOTUS ruling came in the 5-4 Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission decision in January 2010. Again, Justice Clarence Thomas, writing with the majority but dissenting on this one point, noting the First Amendment protected even anonymous speech for very practical reasons. Thomas wrote that disclosure of supporters of California's Proposition 8 (which defined marriage as a man and a woman)
resulted in vandalism and death threats against those who dared speak.
“Some opponents of Proposition 8 compiled this information and created
Web sites with maps showing the locations of homes or businesses of
Proposition 8 supporters. Many supporters (or their customers)
suffered property damage, or threats of physical violence or death, as
a result.... I cannot endorse a view of the First Amendment that
subjects citizens of this Nation to death threats, ruined careers,
damaged or defaced property, or preemptive and threatening warning
letters as the price for engaging in [speech protected by the First
Amendment].”
Thomas R. Eddlem, writing for The New American, said; "Anonymous speech has a long and important role in
American history. The 13 colonies may never had achieved independence
had Samuel Adams not repeatedly written anonymously under pen names
like “Vindex.” The U.S. Constitution would likely not have been adopted without the anonymous Federalist Papers from Madison, Hamilton, and Jay under the pen name “Publius.” (The anti-federalists also published anonymously using names such as “Brutus” and “Cato.”)
Even after the Constitution was adopted, Alexander Hamilton and James
Madison debated President Washington's neutrality policy in newspapers
anonymously using the names Pacificus, Helvidius, and Americanus."
The most basic and important anonymous writing that
every responsible citizen exercises is casting their vote on election
day! Don't let ignorance and peer pressure rob you of this treasure. It
is ignorance and disrespect
of our democratic principles that prompted us to birth this site and a
topic we have addressed repeatedly. Rather than learn and submit to
live under the law of the land, some "locos" here demand what ever it
is their itching ears want to hear like we read about in Judges 17:6
and 21:25; In those days ... every man did [that which was] right in
his own eyes, and again in 2Timothy 4:3 - For the
time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but
after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having
itching ears.
So . . . Why do we write anonymously? Two main reasons.
The same two reasons most anonymous writers write anonymously:
- To remove personalities from substance. So the messages will not
be overshadowed by the messengers. This community committed suicide
before, by letting their prejudice of persons overwhelm them.Unlike
some, who are name droppers and expect a following of brain dead
zombies simply because they believe that they are someone, we don't expect
anyone to follow us. We subscribe to Romans 2:11; For there is no respect of persons with God.
Rather, we hope intelligent, open-minded people will read and learn,
think and act for themselves. Admittedly, our coverage
seems negative, as it often is. We have addressed this fact
early on. One of the reasons we are here is to give balance. All
the other media act as mere propaganda outlets, continually painting a
rosy picture [for those itchy ears]. They refuse to report any truth that appears
negative, and we find no merit in redoubling their work. If you choose
to receive your information like an Ostrich, then don't read our site.
If you believe every coin must have two sides, you'll only find "wholeness," or "the rest of the story" here.
- Protection. We committed ourselves in the beginning to write
anonymously to insure the greatest longevity of this voice, and this site, for your
edification. We knew that litigation was a favorite tool of those
who disrespect FIRST AMENDMENT rights, as they often Brazingly Say; "we will do whatever's
necessary," and that includes "whatever's necessary" to silence their opposition. We determined to make
it
just a bit more difficult to "prove" in court who it is they wanted to
muzzle. As for secretive? ... you'd have to be very new or very
dense not to know some of our supporters. At least the most evil in our
community think they know, as they hurl missiles from their speeding
pickup. We are constantly confronting, as The Shadow of long ago used
to say; "Evil that lurks in the hearts of men." Some contributors want
absolute personal confidentiality and they have good reason. Their jobs,
their homes, their children's well being and even their lives would be
in jeopardy. Such is the depth of this evil. We have already chronicled
here, acts of crime including vandalism, theft, arson, and attempted
murder against our supporters. [Not reported previously, a very large dark haired woman in a
shiny new black Ford pick-up, probably dropping off a kid at
school, turned south from Church and tried to run one of us
down crossing the highway in
front of the VFW. She turned her wheel and aimed directly at him for 3
to
4 truck lengths all the way to the edge of the highway, while
staring straight at him.] This community has at
least one unsolved hit and run murder already, and that murderer
probably still walks among us. We will take every precaution
available against this Resident Evil, including anonymity.
So . . . Who are we anyway? We wax poetic . . .
We are . . .

Pro 3:7
OUR MARCHING ORDERS and if you call yourself Christian, they are yours too:
I
charge [thee] therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who
shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season,
out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and
doctrine. For the time will come when they will
not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to
themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away [their] ears
from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure
afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy
ministry. 2Ti 4:1-5
